Take What You Need, Leave The Rest

While many of you have made resolutions to become healthier and help others with this quest, one of my resolutions is to become healthier as well, but not to give advice or give my input about diet and health.

Why, you ask? Well, during this past holiday season, I finally realized that people just don't care. They want to be healthier, in shape, live longer, look smokin' hot in that itsy bitsy bikini (I know I do); but, they don't want to hear about how to do it and what they are possibly doing wrong.

During one gathering, a recently married woman was asked if she was eating for two, and after her denial, I thought to myself, "No, she's not pregnant, she's inflamed from too much of the "good" stuff!" By which, I mean sugar, gluten, yada, yada, yada. As they would say if I dared open my mouth.

I have been a stay at home mom for over seven years. There's nothing like having children and gaining a little too much extra weight during pregnancy to make you want to live a healthier more active lifestyle. I lost over 30 lbs with PINK Method in 2012, when my son was just over a year old.

What is PINK Method? It is a diet and exercise program developed by Cynthia Pasquella. Oh, I should stop!! I've said too much already. Have I helped you at all? Maybe you should quickly go do something else that'll erase this all from your memory.

Anyway, as I have no subscribers and no one else will ever read this except for me, I will carry on with some advice. (Yay!! I don't have to worry too much about grammar police...but please if anyone out there actually reads this, I am open to corrections. lol.)

1: Start listening to what people are saying. Advice is like a Smörgåsbord. There's a lot to choose from but you don't have to ingest it all. Find what works for you.

2: Stop Sugar! By sugar I also mean aspartame, fructose, corn syrup, pasturized honey, high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), sucralose, saccharin, etc. I recommend stevia, xylitol, raw honey, or maple syrup if you'd like to sweeten anything. Adding a touch of cinnamon adds a hint of sweetness too.

3. Check out PINK MethodBulletProof Diet, The Fat-Burning Man, & The Civilized Caveman.

4. Remember to JERF (just eat real food). If it comes in a box or bag, it's not real food. If it's GMO, it's not real food.

Hello?! HELLO?!?! Oh, there you are. Thought you might have skimmed over that. Did you do #3? Not yet? Go ahead. I'll wait.

There you go. Which do you think you'll try first? Stopping sugar is probably the best one thing you can do for yourself. And it's easier to start small and add as you go than it is too jump in head first. But if you've got a strong willpower, do it all!!

But, I didn't tell you anything. Go ahead, dismiss it all.
